The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national membership organization for the nation’s federally qualified health centers (also known as FQHCs or Community Health Centers). Health centers are nonprofit, community-directed health clinics that provide access to high-quality, culturally competent, and comprehensive care to people living in medically underserved areas. NACHC strengthens the health center movement through advocacy, training, and technical assistance, clinical and operations support. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Policy & Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for providing program management and policy support for the NACHC Regulatory Affairs Team. In this role, the Regulatory Affairs specialist works in coordination with the Regulatory Affairs team to develop resources and deliver technical assistance on federal regulations and programs, including emerging drug policies, Medicaid, Medicare, and Maternal Health issues impacting safety-net providers and underserved patients.   

 

Key Responsibilities (List the key pieces from the Job Description) 

  • Provides administrative and program management support to the Federal policy team.   

    • Manages Regulatory Affairs inbox and responds to member inquiries.    

    • Responsible for compiling and organizing weekly newsletters.    

    • Draft email communications to support the team’s projects and events.    

    • Oversees logistics and coordination for the team’s webinars and presentations.    

 

  • Coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs team to monitor, analyze, and respond appropriately to policy developments that impact health center services, patients, and operations.  

    • Responsible for tracking federal regulations and policies that impact health center policy priorities, like primary care, drug pricing, underserved communities, and more.  

    • Policy topic areas include Medicaid, Medicare, the Health Center Program, 340B and drug pricing, and more.  

    • Providing technical assistance and developing resources to support health centers’ compliance with emerging federal regulatory and statutory requirements.  

      • This includes developing factsheets, issue briefs, and blogs. 

  • Collaborate with other NACHC divisions to find regulatory solutions and provide technical support to health centers.   

  • Role requires 10-15% travel per year.   

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise 

  • Broad understanding and knowledge of health policy. 

  • Previous work experience related to Medicaid, Medicare, health insurance, community health centers, safety-net providers, and/or primary care.  

  • Concise and clear public speaking skills. 

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and operate under quick deadlines. 

  • A bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, or a related field, with at least one year of relevant public policy/regulatory experience. 

 

Salary Range: 

$56,000- $61,000
