Position Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Deputy Director, Assistant Controller to ensure the accuracy of our general ledger system through timely and accurate reconciliation. This role involves supervising a team while maintaining and enhancing financial processes within our organization.


Key Responsibilities:

-       Ensure timely and accurate maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including but not limited to bank and investment accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, depreciation, fixed assets, and temporarily restricted net assets.

-       Prepare journal entries and analyze accounts for irregularities.

-       Generate invoices for various grants and contracts and submit them to funders for reimbursements.

-       Recommend updates or revisions to policies and procedures, and seek opportunities to enhance efficiencies.

-       Supervises the work of the Manager, Senior Accountant, Manager, Data Entry and Specialist, Data Entry.

-       Fulfill additional duties as assigned to support the organization.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

-       Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with 5-7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit organization.

-       Public accounting experience is beneficial.

-       CPA certification is preferred, but not mandatory.

-       Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, accounting, and database software. Experience with Sage Intacct and iMIS a plus

-       Must possess excellent analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate financial information to vendors, members, and staff.

-       Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds at a variety of levels
