, ,The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national membership organization for the nation’s federally qualified health centers (also known as FQHCs or Community Health Centers). Health centers are nonprofit, community-directed health clinics that provide access to high-quality, culturally competent, and comprehensive care to people living in medically underserved areas. NACHC strengthens the health center movement through advocacy, training, and technical assistance, clinical and operations support. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Policy & Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for advising and responding to emerging federal policy issues impacting the nation’s health centers. In this role, the manager of Regulatory Affairs works in coordination with the Regulatory Affairs team to develop resources and deliver technical assistance on federal regulations and programs, including the Health Center Program and the Teaching Health Center Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs team to monitor, analyze, and respond appropriately to policy developments that impact health center services, patients, and operations.
- Supporting the Deputy Director in drafting comment letters in response to federal regulations and requests for information.
- Responsible for tracking federal regulations and policies that impact health center policy priorities, like primary care, drug pricing, underserved communities, and more.
- Policy topic areas include Medicaid, Medicare, the Health Center Program, 340B and drug pricing, and more.
- Providing technical assistance and developing resources to support health centers’ compliance with emerging federal regulatory and statutory requirements.
- This includes developing factsheets, issue briefs, and blogs.
- Present frequently on national membership webinars and NACHC conferences.
- Collaborate with other NACHC divisions to find regulatory solutions and provide technical support to health centers.
- Role requires 10-15% travel per year.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Broad understanding and knowledge of federal health policy.
- Previous work experience related to Medicaid, Medicare, health insurance, community health centers, safety-net providers, and/or primary care.
- Ability to issue-spot and develop data-driven recommendations.
- Concise and clear public speaking skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and operate under quick deadlines.
- A bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) degree in public policy, public health, or a related field, with at least three years of relevant public policy/regulatory experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Extensive writing and research experience
COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS
- Experience creating and delivering substantive presentations.
- Comfortable with public speaking virtually and in person.
Salary Range:
$84,000-$88,600
